Filtering or polishing of your spirit can be necessary to obtain a purer and odour-free spirit.
This is stainless steel split carbon filter kit for spirits filtration.
The filter kit consists of a 50L stainless steel kettle with glass lid to hold spirits to be filtrated, and with a full stainless steel 2" tri-clover kit for filtration by loose activated carbon.
The outlet of spirits will be controlled by a needle valve so that the spirits can be filtrated with precise controlled flow.
Like the plastic version of the Ultimate spirits filter system, the spirits will be flow reversed from bottom to top using a stainless steel flexi pipe. The advantage of the reverse flow is to ensure the spirits will not by-pass the carbon and flow directly to the outlet. The reason for this happen is because when the spirits fill into the housing, the air inside will block the spirits fulfill the housing because there's no air exhaust channel except the inlet valve which may be blocked by the spirits. While this is not a problem if the spirits will filled from bottom to top, because the air will exhaust from the top by natural flow. This is why most of carbon filter was designed to go from bottom to top, rather than from top to bottom.
The housing of carbon can hold about 250g activated carbon, that's enough to filtrate about 30L of 40% of spirits. In principle, the slower the better. Alternatively, you can run batch filtration by closing the bottom valve and fulfilling the housing with spirits.
The activated carbon will polish the spirits well and remove by-products from the distillation.

Note:
You need flush the carbon for 3-5L water before use, just follow the instruction.
We have longer 2" triclover pipe available, you can upgrade the filter housing to longer one with small cost.
